Miss Nevaeh. Five and a half and all sorts of silly. She isn’t usually a willing model for me, and today was no different. But, I bribed her with ice cream and once we got started she just got going . And noisy. And a bit stinky….hence all the giggling   Hehe. yes, she looks all pretty- in -pink, but she’s got a little tomboy in her:)

If only all these sweet hats would stay on her head…Little tooter. She’s crazy about these glasses from her dress – up bin, and I’ve gotta say that she makes a darned cute nerdy girlIt gets me just how quickly she’s growing up…she doesn’t look like a pudgy little thing any more – just a sassy Kinder Miss. Love you girly!

Here’s our Little “Zilla”….or Evezilla, Eve of Destruction or Ev-il if you ask me on one of her crazy days!! ha. Yes, she is a mischievous little thing and entertaining to say the least! She was a bit down and out for her party, having been sick for a few days, but we decided to have a little get together for her anyhow. So, here are some birthday portraits of her on the “actual” day as well as some from her little bash.

Finally, after mass neglect in the land o blog- world – I have decided to take some time and put up something to make not only myself…but hopefully a few others smile:) The lack of posts was mainly because of finishing up as many orders and albums as I could in time for Christmas, as well as all the little bits of personal stuff…..Christmas shopping, wrapping, redoing the girls’ playroom ( in time for Christmas…ahhhh)! as well as refinishing a bunch of furniture, painting 3 rooms as well as our kitchen…that one took 3x; I just couldn’t get the darned colour right!

Amongst all the chaos we managed to get the girls scrubbed clean and in front of the camera….I brought in a lot of helpers; 3 of Nev’s neighborhood friends( to help keep Eve happy) as well as another Mum… I could NOT have done it on my own. Still, Eve was true to character…acting like her usual Eve of Destruction self, and the only way we could get her to smile was to “let” her throw pinecones directly at my head. Fabulous. So, you may notice these are definitely not all in focus, but they are completely perfect in my eyes and well worth the sweating, cursing ( under my breath) and headache that lasted the rest of the day.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

Something about this one makes me smile…Nevaeh’s girls:) This is soooooo Nevaeh ; she’s like ” alright Mum, it’s been 5 minutes – now where is the coin you promised me”? haha.These last two I MAJOR love! Especially the last one as it captures exactly what photographing them was like -pinecone throwing at all!

Halloween we all donned pirate garb ; even Papa surprised us and got all decked out. I do have to clarify though, that the girls were ” pirallena’s”…Pirate-Ballerina’s. Nevaeh insisted that she NOT be an ugly pirate, so I of course made sure that Eve was cute as well…

Hope you all had a wonderful night of trick o treating…luckily for me my kids take after their Mama and have a very short term memory – I dumped almost all candy and chocolate and Nevaeh hasn’t asked for ANY since that night – YAYYYY!!! That means less junk in the trunk for me. Literally.

These first ones are Nevaeh’s “secondary” costume she wore for Day 1 of the FOUR day Hallween events we took part in. She wanted to be a fashion girl… and this is what we found. Plus, it’ll come in handy for a ’50’s themed party we’ll be going to. Are the specs not the cutest thing EVER?!

Miss Pirallina. Pre – hairdo, and before she decided that the eye patch was ugly. What a diva!Our little Pirate Pack:)He makes a pretty believable pirate, dontcha think?! The girls were crazy about it…..I think he should just embrace it and BE a pirate! haha..Our first stop, of course was over at DeeDee’s ( aka – Brooke) place. Nevaeh had to see her Future Pirate husband:)Arghhh!Gosh I love these girls! Best Halloween yet:)

Sombreros, moustaches, colourful dresses, nachos, a pinata and of course a lot of noise and giggles. It was a chaotic but successful 5th birthday for Miss Nevaeh and we had heaps of fun:)

Another birthday has passed, and this one definitely felt like a BIG one….Nevaeh is five, and I can hardly believe it. Time has flown by, and she has changed us for the better. She is sweet, sassy, emotional, superduper clever, and of course completely adorable. Nevaeh, we love you to the moon and back….HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

And just for fun, a few of our fave Nevaeh quotes from the past year….( don’t judge me…some are my fault)!

Mike:: ” Doesn’t Mummy’s new hair look nice”?   Nevaeh:: ” Yeahh….you look beautiful Mummy. Beautiful and chunky”.

Nevaeh:: ” My new boyfriend is Evan.  Me:: ” What’s Evan like?”  Nevaeh::  ” He’s a boy”.  Me:: “Oh. What does he look like”?  Nevaeh:: ” Well, he looks like a boy. You know, he looks “Evan’y”.

Simon:: ” HOLY COW”!!!  Aunt Shell, I can say “holy cow”, my Mummy says it’s not a bad word.”  Nevaeh::  ” But Si, you can’t say “holy @*$@”, my Mummy says it IS a bad word”.

Whoa. Sometimes I wonder where these things come from.  We do our best, right?!

So, although these pics are more for us, enjoy them…..and remember, don’t judge the old photos – I didn’t redo anything ; it IS hard for me to look back, but at the same time it’s great to know how far I’ve come. And the best part?! Nevaeh is the one and only reason I began this journey into photography…thanks Miss!!! Mwah!!!

So the first image on the left? That’s Nevaeh very first pro photo shoot at 2 weeks old ( I wasn’t happy with them and went out and bought my own camera, so began the journey:)

Still one of my faves ( she was 7 months here) …and the very first shot I ever took in a studio. Thanks Eric!!!The first summer with Si – Nevaeh 21 months, Si 15 monthsOkay, I have to defend this first image. So freakin’ cute, love her expression….but the hair? Oh baby did the hair have to go! Not every little girl should have long hair people! The image under it to the left was shot the very next day, just after her first haircut( She was 20 months here…same age as Eve now)  And yes, I know….she STILL has the same cut 3 and a half years later. But it’s so cute!!!One of their first spats. Nevaeh freakin’ out…..pretty standard. Nevaeh ( 2 years old)  and her sweet little friends, Charlotte and Isabelle – we’ll miss you girls!!!!A fave. That’s my brother , Uncle Jeff. The Hungry Bum shot from her 3 year old ballet class…..a classic. Pre- Big Sis. And she’s a big sister. Truly one of the best I’ve seen….they have not once fought, she’s never grabbed from Eve, pushed her, spoke meanly to her…..and is VERY protective. We couldn’t have asked her to be a more fabulous sis.  Let’s just hope this doesn’t mean that the teenage years are going to be hellish. Four year old ballet class. Less baby pudge, and a little taller. Just as cute!This one melts me:)She reminds me of Reese Witherspoon in this one…..from Election, maybe? Anyways, this little face of hers is so endearing:)First summer of soccer…..a little too long ( an hour) and a little too hot ( almost 100 degrees) but it was still fun:)This was actually during a client session….I got “stuck” with my kiddos, and Nevaeh was ( surprisingly) a doll!With her fave Aunties and Uncle…and little Brooke, of course:) First week of Kindy!HAPPY BIRTHDAY Miss!!!  We love you heaps:)

I haven’t done this in a lonnng time, too long as I have promised “Nanny” updated photos of the girls and I just don’t deliver. So, here a bunch from the park the other day. I’ll make sure to do another post once my wedding work is caught up on….bits from our summer ( is it ALREADY over)? sniff. I’ll end the post with a Super Special photo of our KinderMiss Nevaeh on her very first day of school. She is LOVING it! ( And yes, so am I ! hehe)!

This one is for my Dad, and Nevaeh and Eve’s “Gimpa”. Yep, Miss Nevaeh tagged him with that name when she was just one year old, and it has stuck!  Last month I did a quick session with Dad, stepmum Dianna and their 3 kids….it had been years since they had a family pic done, and well….I guess I was the obvious choice, right?! So, don’t say anything if you see him because this image is his Father’s Day gift….I’ve printed it HUGE for his office – I think he’ll love it!

Just a little post of the girlies I had forgotten about. A few of these images have actually been framed up big and put proudly on our walls last month; just got so busy I forgot to blog ‘em! These were snapped after a baby session I had done at Brooke’s studio, and B decided to pick up her camera and snap a few of Eve while she chilled on the bed. Well, Big Sis decided she wanted in there ( amazing)! so I actually got some updated pics of the two of them together. I managed to catch a few shots I adore, but the majority were shot by Brooke while I bounced around trying to get Eve to peek up at us….Brooke, I love love LOVE these; thank you so much for the impromptu quickie:)!
